As part of the George W. Bush Institute's Women's Initiative Fellowship Program, Dr. Mohamed Shaalan, BCFE Chairman, was invited to Susan G. Komen in Washington D.C. to present BCFE's experience. Dr. Shaalan talked about BCFE's role in fighting breast cancer in Egypt and the Middle East, BCFE's collaborations with international organizations such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and how the fellows can get involved with BCFE.

The Women's Initiative Fellowship Program is program designed to enhance the leadership skills of women around the world with an initial focus on women in the Middle East and North Africa. The purpose of the Fellowship is to empower and equip women to become effective leaders. Fellows develop leadership skills, exchange expertise, learn to advocate for social stability, and build civil society.
Awareness for Spanish Speaking Ladies Club

The Spanish Speaking Ladies Club in Egypt invited the Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt (BCFE) for the second time to their monthly meeting to give an awareness lecture on breast cancer.

Dr. Norran H. Said, Breast Imaging Consultant & BCFE Executive Director, gave the lecture which included the self-examination steps, the risk factors and the different types of mammograms. About 35 ladies attended the lecture which was held at the Maadi Catholic Church
